Everything she said rang true about the person who assaulted me. “They know their predator” “Right place, right time”.

I'm so sorry, Jalinda. As i was listening to her talk, I kept saying, "oh, my gosh, this is going to really resonate with some people." The prolific side of it, too; you feel like you're alone, but "he knows 100 women," and what she said about getting away with it was chilling: "And it’s only when they’ve gotten away with it and enough time has passed, they think, “I’m not going to get called out for that. I’m going to do it again.” They get to a certain point where if they’re not going to get caught, they start doing it a lot."

I followed the Larry Nassar trial. Judge Aquilina commented that even though so many victims came forward to speak, there were likely many more who remained silent. You can’t quite believe that a single man could abuse so many girls and young women. Then you think of all the years and all the girls Nassar had access to.

I was told, this is what they do. This is their “occupation”. They aren’t doctors or pilots. They are sexual predators. This is what they commit their lives to.

Very well said. This kind of situation, i think, is what the saying "shocked but not surprised" was coined for. We know it happens, now we know how much the silence protects the predators and punishes the victims, but learning how many are out there is no less horrifying and shocking.

My abuser is a dead pilot who lied about every aspect of his life (I am just learning about all these lies). The only thing I know for certain about him is his name.

I'm so sorry. It must be so upsetting to see all this out there now and try to adjust to what you thought you knew. It's exhausting
