Molin got away with so much. I was also reading in the New York Times over 500 women and kids were abused by Larry Nassar. Probably many more who haven’t come forward. The institutions that protect them are just as culpable. Michigan State University or American Airlines. You also have to wonder about the psychology of it. I was told by a psychologist these guys get a “high” from what they do. Like someone addicted to cocaine or heroin they have to seek out their “high” as often as they can. There were opportunities to stop Nassar and there were opportunities to stop Molin before he crashed a plane. But people turned a blind eye to it. If Sara is talking to victims could she talk to me?
I got the aggressive late-night emails trying to bully me into a relationship. He was a grub and an ignoramus. Other male pilots found it hilarious he was “fishing off the company pier”. Then again they all did too, even those with families at home. It’s just a seedy, seamy environment to have to work in.
So here I am a year after this article was written blown away. I went down a rabbit hole today as I had googled when the AA crash happened as I was sharing a story with my daughter about my own crazy AA experience sitting on the runway in the Dominican Republic. (Nothing to do with SA.) I decided to dig deeper into the guy piloting the aircraft after reading the short conversation between him and the Captain. The conversation seemed off to me, not because of the impending crash, but a question the Captain asked this pilot: “Are you ok”. My social work and psychology background (it doesn’t take a rocket scientist) kicked in and I was curious about this guy. Why did the Captain ask him this question right before this crash? Then came Sara! The Medium (disclaimer) was all I read at first. Then I deep dove into the investigation and how it mostly came down to pilot error vs manufacturer lack of warning about the rudder. I thought, well it’s been reported he’s over reacted to prior with the rudder and was warned by another pilot. I kept thinking “why did THIS guy keep f*cking up when thousands of other pilots didn’t”? Then I went back to Sara, and I got here, and it all makes sense. Sara: sooooo glad you left People, you are towers above that fluff. You’re doing great work now, important work. My thoughts are with all these amazing resilient women.
My god, Sara! I read this & I felt disgusted by what Molin did!! What a manipulative, low life lying, sick piece of shit he was! My question is why, why wasn't he stopped? He intoxicated & raped a woman! This is a felony & he should have been caught & charged with that. If the police were actually to be helpful & did their job, DNA would have linked him to this! This is why we have laws, to catch people like Molin!! If a man's DNA is on a woman and she feels like this, he raped her. I believe this FA 100% & feel sad she got preyed on. I rejected an invitation from Sten to go to his hotel room in the early morning hours ostensibly for “sushi and Sake”. Thank you dear Lord Jesus I didn’t go to his room! He started a rumour about me that was humiliating and degrading. This is an old one though so he was not even original. It goes right back to an old rumour about Rod Stewart. Apparently the Navy arrived at port. I was at some bar with all these sailors (my former partner was in the Navy). After spending the night with them I had to be rushed to the hospital to have my stomach pumped because I had swallowed so much s***n. Some people may think this is funny. It really isn’t. It is degrading and humiliating. A person can terrorise you psychologically if they can’t get they want physically.
